Unknown Vanmeter

According to previous owner CDV came with other soldiers wearing the same jacket ID'd to the 24th Indiana Vol. Infantry. On the Civil War Database there are three Vanmeters listed in that unit, all were privates but none is listed as hospital steward -- further research may pin this one down. The 24th Indiana was a Shiloh unit that subsequently fought in Mississippi and spent time at various locations in Louisiana during 1864.
