Wilma E. Van Meter

Wilma E. Van Meter, 90, formerly of this area, died Feb. 7, 1994, in a nursing home in Oskaloosa, Kan., where she lived. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Thurman Chapel, Richmond; burial in Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel. Mrs. Van Meter was born in Camden in Ray County and lived in this area and in Arizona before moving to Oskaloosa eight years ago. She was a sales clerk for the Jones Store Co. be fore she retired. She was a member of the Camden Baptist Church. Her husband, J.W. "Tot" Van Meter, died in 1957.

Survivors include a son, Robert Van Meter, Winchester, Kan.; five brothers, Reyburn Kennedy, Excelsior Springs, James Kennedy, England, Don Kennedy, Independence, Leslie Kennedy, Fort Collins, Colo., and Harold Kennedy, Kearney; four sisters, Rowena Cain, Gladstone, Iona McAbel, Sparks, Nev., Norma Othier, Beulah, Colo., and Frances Stuart, Excelsior Springs; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
