Vivian N. Van Meter

Vivian N. Van Meter, 80, of Nipomo, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004.

There will be a time of visitation from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel in Grover Beach.

Vivian was born Sept. 17, 1924, in German Township, Pa. She attended Pittsburgh area schools and graduated from Fifth Avenue High School. She lived in Pittsburgh for 24 years, Canoga Park for 11 years, Canyon Country for 13 years, and Arroyo Grande for 16 years. She married Don L. Van Meter in Montebello on Feb. 13, 1954.

Vivian was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Canoga Park since 1963. She was a federal government civil service employee from 1942 to 1954.

Vivian enjoyed being a mother and homemaker and she liked taking part in church services and activities.

Vivian is survived by her husband, Don L. Van Meter of Nipomo; son, Nelson Lee Van Meter of Palmdale; step-mother, Eva Nelson of Lake Forest; and two grandchildren in Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emma L. Nelson and Albert J. Nelson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
