Otha C. VanMeter
CUMBERLAND -
Otha C. VanMeter, 61, of Cumberland, died
Monday, May 10, 1999, at Memorial Hospital.
Born July 26, 1937, in Maysville, W.Va., he was the son of the late George and
Rosa (Rohrbaugh) VanMeter. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Chester
VanMeter; and one sister, Mae Reed.
Mr. VanMeter was employed by the City of Cumberland at the Wastewater Treatment
Plant. He was Protestant by faith.
Surviving are three sons, Larry C. VanMeter and wife, Debbie, Cumberland, Lonald
R. VanMeter, Cumberland, and Donald W. VanMeter and wife, Sherry, Oldtown; his
special friend, Gloria J. Rice, Cumberland; his former wife, Eleanor Steward,
Cumberland; two sisters, Mary Gottlieb, Cumberland, and Ellen Bock, Cumberland;
and one brother, Tracey VanMeter, Cumberland; seven grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave.,
Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Spring Gap.
