Nylah A. VanMeter

Nylah A. (McNeal) VanMeter, 79, Anderson, died Sept. 13, 2004, at Community Northview, Anderson, after an extended illness.

She was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Bluffton, and lived in this area most of her life. She was a homemaker.

She attended the First Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James VanMeter; children, Lowell Dodson and wife Patricia, Larry Dodson and wife Linda, Penny Hulett, Jeff VanMeter and Debbie Deweese; a brother, Dick McNeal and wife Janey; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Bess (Spall) McNeal; and five brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the South Chapel.
