Marilyn C. Van Meter

MARILYN C. VAN METER, 73, Lima, died at 6:40 p.m. Dec. 18, 2004, at Beverly
Health Care.

She was born May 2, 1931, in Massillon to W.J. and Virginia C. Myers Scheetz,
who preceded her in death. On May 23, 1953, she married Wilford D. Van Meter,
who died Feb. 24, 1996.

Mrs. Van Meter was a homemaker. She attended St. Rose Catholic Church.
Survivors include six sons, Stephen D. (Deb) Van Meter and Jeffery A. (Terri)
Van Meter, both of Wapakoneta, and Robert H. Van Meter, Gregg T. (Erma) Van
Meter, John D. (Sheila) Van Meter and Mark E. (Tiffiney) Van Meter, all of
Lima; four daughters, Sherry L. (William) Cook of Wellington, Fla., Sheila A.
(Billie) Coburn of Wapakoneta, Marilyn J. Van Meter of Lima and Valerie S.
(Darrel) Alspaugh of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Phyllis (Patrick) Welch of
Bonita Springs, Fla., and Suzanne (Thomas) Pohlabel of Eaton; and 32
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Scheetz.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes,
Wayne Street Chapel. The Rev. William Rose will officiate. Burial will be in
Gethsemane Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services
Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Allen County Council on Aging.
