L.P. Van Meter

ALVARADO - L.P. Van Meter of Alvarado died Thursday at a Fort Worth hospital. He was 63.

Graveside service will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Grass Valley, Calif., at a date to be announced later.

Local arrangements are being made by Clayton Kay Funeral Home in Alvarado.

Mr. Van Meter was a construction supervisor. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War post and the American Legion post in Alvarado.

Survivors: Wife, Phong Van Meter of Alvarado; two sons, Dennis Van Meter of Redding, Calif., and Joe Van Meter of Grass Valley, Calif.; four daughters, Nanacy Rodriguez of Redwood City, Calif., Claudia Sharsmitt of Grass Valley, Sandra Paine of Las Vegas and Cinthia Trathen of Grass Valley; brother, Billy Van Meter of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Ida Deurfrene of New Orleans and Linnie Eaton of Grass Valley; mother, Linnie Van Meter of Grass Valley; and 13 grandchildren.
