Lena F. Van Metre

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Lena F. Van Metre, 84, a native of Wareham, Mass., died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at Anaheim Memorial Hospital of respiratory failure. She was the wife of James H. Van Metre.
Born in Wareham, the daughter of the late Louis and Louise (Collari) Malagoti, she was a 1933 graduate of Wareham High School.
Mrs. Van Metre, a homemaker, married her husband in 1944 and moved to California with him 49 years ago.
Survivors include her widower; two daughters, Jacque Lynn Van Metre of Wareham and Judith Anne Erickson of Anaheim; three sisters, Norma L. Fraser and Eleanor Precourt, both of Wareham, and Margaret R. Stevens of West Wareham, Mass.; four grandchildren, Cynthia Bootman of Lake Forest, Brian Erickson of Beaverton, Ore., Christopher Brent Erickson of Huntington Beach and Tiffany Van Metre of Wareham; and a great-granddaughter, Amber Plaster of Lake Forest.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Church, Wareham; burial will be in Center Cemetery, Wareham.
Arrangements are by the Stott, Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Route 28, Wareham.
