J. B. VAN METRE DEAD

Martinsburg, W. Va., September 20
Joseph B. Van Metre, aged 80 years, a widely known farmer and banker, died last night at his home near Shepherdstown from paralysis. He was president of the Farmers Bank of Shepherdstown and a director of the Citizens National Bank of that city since its organization in 1893. His survivors are a widow, three children, three sisters and one brother. He was a Confederate soldier.
