Helen Louise VanMeter-Goings June 20, 1922-Dec. 5, 2002 Helen Louise VanMeter-Goings, 80, of Bucyrus, died Thursday at Galion Community Hospital following an extended illness. She was born June 20, 1922, in Oceola, the daughter of the late John and Lulu (Weyan) White. On Nov. 28, 1948, she married Wilson A. VanMeter. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1986. She then married Lewis W. Goings on June 29, 1995. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Robert Baysinger of Largo, Fla. grandchildren, Michelle Ann Baker of Mansfield and Kristy and Trisha Baysinger of Largo, Fla. a great-granddaughter, Shyanna Marie Baysinger of Largo, Fla. a step-son and his wife, Garrett and Judy Sonnessnie-Brown of New York City step-grandchildren, Louisa Goings and Shawn Dunbar and step-great-grandchildren, Julian Goings, Caleb Goings and Elijah Goings. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael VanMeter. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Holmes-Liberty High School in 1940. She attended the Columbus Office Training School and worked at Crawford Steel and the Oceola Post Office. She attended the Oceola United Methodist Church where she was organist for many years and then joined Hope Church in Sulphur Springs. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Wise Funeral Service. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor H. Walter Keib officiating.
