Ethel F. Van Meter

 
Ethel F. Van Meter , 85 of Elgin passed away Monday, December 29, 2003 in her home. She was born November 3, 1918 in Ottertail County, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph F. and Laura DeSilva Klinnert.
    She had been a resident of the Elgin area for most of her life. She had been employed by the Elgin Case Factory, M.J. Silberts and then Grayline Housewares before retiring.
    She was an avid reader and loved to cook and bake.
    Surviving are two daughters, Pamela (Bruce) Mcgregor of Huntley, IL, Diana (Mike) Bruening of Elgin; two sons, Jack (Norma) Daum of Henderson, Nevada, LeRoy (Peg) Van Meter of Burlington Twp., IL; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Van Meter; a son, Richard Daum; two brothers and two sisters.
    Memorial services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Rev. Andrew Plesa officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be private in Udina Cemetery.
