Ervin L. VanMeter
Ervin Levoy "Jack" VanMeter Jr., 69, Huntington, died at 12:44 p.m. Wednesday
(Nov. 24, 2004) at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. VanMeter was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Good Shepherd
Church.
He was born July 16, 1935, a son of Ervin Levoy VanMeter Sr. and Mabel Ditton
VanMeter. He married Sally Witt in Las Vegas, Nev. on Oct. 6, 1979. His wife
survives.
Also surviving are a son, Alan VanMeter, Huntington; four daughters, Tina
VanMeter, California, Mrs. David (Marsha) Dalton, Hartford City, Mrs. Steve
(Vickie) Yahne, Goshen, and Gina Foster, Woodland, Calif.; a stepson, Jake
Taggart, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Wanda Maresca, California; four sisters, Ruth
Shaw, Andrews, Margaret Howard, Huntington, Mary Pensoneall, Yucca Valley,
Calif., and Sharon Sentner, Michigan; a brother, Butch VanMeter, Loma Rica,
Calif.; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Northview Church of Christ
with Rev. Richard VanMeter officiating. Burial will be at the Star of Hope
Cemetery at a later date.
McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
