Dovie Mae Van Meter
86, of Clarkson, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at her home.
She was born Dec. 22, 1924, in Hardin County, the daughter of Henry and Violet
Young Love. She was a sales clerk for the former Western Auto Store, a
housewife, farmer and an "awesome Mamaw" and member of Antioch General Baptist
Church.
She is survived by four sons, Duel (Joyce), Bobby, and Danny (Trish), all of
Clarkson and Greg (Genna) of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Shelia (Bill) Page of
Elizabethtown and Belinda (Jim) McKinley of Clarkson; 17 grandchildren, Troy,
Derek, Joey, Wendy, Michael, Jamie, Sarah, Rachel, Leah, Benjamin, Joshua, Jacob
Issac, Hannah, Tabitha, Seth, Mahli'Ruth and Bethany; nine great-grandchildren,
Donovan, Trinity, Morgan, Olivia, Brittany, Ariel, Emelia, Shanna and Braxton;
her daughter-in-law, Betty Van Meter of Bardstown; two brothers, Delbert of
Eastview, and Paul Love (Judy) of Elizabethtown; one sister, Donnie Miller
(David) of Cecilia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Issac Ova; one son, Larry; one
grandson, Chris Van Meter; three brothers, Denver, Wesley and Ray Love; and one
sister, Kathleen Taylor.
The funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Antioch General Baptist Church with
Brother Gary Embry officiating. Burial was in Antioch Church Cemetery.
Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield was in charge of arrangements.
