Donald E. Van Meter, 76, of Carol Stream and formerly Glendale Heights, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, in Central DuPage in Winfield. Born in Bloomington, Ill., Mr. Van Meter was an electrician and from 1961 to 1969 served as a Glendale Heights trustee. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Glendale Heights VFW Post 2377. Survivors include his wife, Dora Lee; four daughters, Stephanie, Valerie LoCascio, Sandra Mack and Cynthia Rigert; a son, Donald; seven grandchildren; a sister, BettyBeranek; two brothers, Gail and Leon; and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Cypress Funeral Home, 1698 N. Bloomingdale Rd., Glendale Heights. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with mass at 10 a.m. in Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1415 Lies Rd., Carol Stream.
