Burley E. Van Meter

Burley E. Van Meter , 65, of St. Albans died Dec. 14, 1997, at home after a long illness.

He was a retired driver from Mark III Trucking with 35 years' service, attended Browns Creek Church of God, was a member of Teamsters Local 175, Charleston, and the VFW and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving: wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Van Meter ; sons, Michael E. of South Charleston, Timothy E. of Hurricane; daughter, Sheila J. McClanahan of Poca; brothers, Paul G. and James A., both of St. Albans; sisters, Gertrude I. Davis and Betty J. Larck both of St. Albans; three grandsons.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, Cross Lanes, with the Rev. Alvin Larck officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Kanawha Hospice Care Inc., 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, W.Va. 25064.
