Annette Van Meter

Age 91, widow of William Pettit, died at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 1953 at residence, 225 S. Ashland Av., Lexington, after a brief illness; daughter of late Benjamin F. and Amelia Lewis VanMeter, born January 31, 1862 in Clark County; educated by private tutors and attended Sayre Female Institute; charter member, Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church, devoted much of her time and means in promoting interest in the mission field; survivors, sons, William Pettit, Harold Pettit, both of Lexington, sister, Mabelle VanMeter,
Lexington, four grandchildren, Mrs. W. O. Shropshire, William Pettit, III, Miss Dunster Pettit, Lexington, Harrison Foster Pettit, U.S. Air Force, and two great-grandchildren; burial in Lexington Cemetery.
