John Van Meter's Children-
John Van Meter's wife was Etholinda Earl. They were married in 1846. Etholinda died October 30, 1896, John died March 11, 1907, and Etholinda was born 1825.
Winfield Van Meter married Louise Klaus December 23, 1875 and their children were:
Charles Earnest Van Meter son of W. S. and Louise married Annie Louise Read December 21, 1898. Their children:
Dorothy married Raymond E. Rayboorn November 10,
Walter has two adopted daughters (English girls) Rosemary and Maragret
Ella Van Meter daughter of W. S. and L. V. M. married E. Frank Winfield March 22, 1910. No children
John Van Mater was born in Berkley County, Virginia and went to Hancock, Indiana with parents when 10 or 12 years old. At 19 moved to St. Joseph then to Atchison County, Mo. Returned to Ind. 1837. Moved there and settled near Charlettsville, Ind. and stayed till 1854 then came back to Atchison County, Mo. and lived there rest of his live.
